Community Safety Plans
Grounded. Connected.
Action-Oriented.
At House of Wolf, we work alongside Indigenous governments and communities to design and strengthen local safety systems from the ground up. Our approach is rooted in listening first, honouring traditional knowledge, and turning community voices into action.
Each project we undertake follows three key phases:
01. Grounding –
Understanding Where We Are
We begin by listening and learning. We gather data, review policies and programs, and hold conversations with leaders to understand what’s working and what needs change.
02. Engagement —
The Community Holds the Key
We listen deeply to Elders, youth, and families to ensure the process reflects the lived experience of the community.
03. Action —
Turning Insight into a Plan
We weave together stories and data into a clear roadmap: a 5-Year Community Safety Plan grounded in culture, hope and practical next steps.
Our services reflect this process;
practical support that moves from insight to implementation.

Community Safety Engagements
We begin by connecting with the heart of your community. Through Elder Historical Scans, small group dialogues, and confidential one-on-one conversations, we create a space for all voices to be heard. This is not consultation for its own sake. It’s about ensuring every plan grows from the community’s priorities, truths, stories, and strengths.

Community Assessment
& 5-Year Plan
Our full Community Safety Assessment combines data analysis, local knowledge, and cultural understanding. Using both a Medicine Wheel Analysis and a SWOT framework, we explore the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of safety and wellbeing.
The result is a living document, your communities’ 5-Year Community Safety Plan, that includes clear goals, priorities, timelines, and responsibilities. It becomes the roadmap for action, resilience, and healing for years to come.
CPTED & Resiliency Assessments
Our Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessments explore how the physical environment can promote safety, pride, and connection. We provide practical recommendations for lighting, visibility, and beautification, helping to reduce harm before it happens.
We also assess Community Resiliency and emergency preparedness, ensuring that communities are ready to respond to challenges like wildfire, flooding, or other climate-related events. By integrating traditional knowledge with modern risk planning, we help build systems that protect and empower.
