At House of Wolf & Associates, advocacy is a core part of our work. We believe Indigenous communities deserve safety systems that are community-led, culturally grounded, and designed to work alongside existing emergency and policing services to better support community wellbeing.

Across the North and throughout Canada, Indigenous Nations are strengthening community safety through their own programs, wellness teams, Elder patrols, restorative justice initiatives, and prevention-focused approaches. These programs help fill critical gaps by providing trusted, relationship-based support that policing and emergency services are not always designed or resourced to provide on their own.

We believe safer communities are created through collaboration. Community-led safety initiatives can reduce pressure on police, EMS, and emergency systems by helping connect citizens to supports earlier, responding to lower-risk situations in culturally safe ways, and strengthening relationships within communities.

Our role is to help bring community voices, priorities, and lived realities into conversations with territorial, provincial, and federal governments. We advocate for sustainable funding, strong partnerships, and policies that recognize the important role Indigenous Nations play in advancing safety, wellness, and prevention within their own communities.

Our work is grounded in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, UNDRIP, and the growing recognition of Indigenous self-determination in community safety and justice. Through strategic planning, policy development, government engagement, and public education, we support Indigenous communities in building systems that are practical, collaborative, and rooted in local values and knowledge.
