Safety patrol formed after violent crimes mark Yukon community
After violent crime changed their community, it was time to make positive changes. That’s when Selkirk First Nation in the Yukon formed a Community Safety Officer Program. The program sees safety officers patrol the streets, in conjunction with local RCMP.
